There are lots of things that are quintessentially Southern, BUT today I was getting gas and I overheard two men speaking, and I couldn't sum up a southern way better than this.
"How you doing today?"
"Well, I woke up!"
"Got ta' thank the good Lord for that."
"I got no complaints."
"Me neither."
"And I sure the heck don't wanna hear someone else's:-)!"

Ebenezer's.
Not the Dickens kind.
The Samuel kind.
These ebenezer's
are marking stones.
They are laid down
to remind us
of how our God
has provided for us.
Curses placed upon
the person's who ever
tried to move these stones,
these rocks of help.
The bridge over Lake Johnson.
The boxes of journals under our guest bed.
The rock painted green with the word HOPE written on it.
Tiny teaspoons from Italy.
Our wedding picture.
